Preparing Financial Statements

We prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and other entities to meet all their reporting obligations.

Preparing Management Accounts

We produce periodic management accounts for clients who maintain their own accounting records but who do not have in-house resources to produce profit and loss accounts or balance sheets from those records. This work often includes the preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT return. Clients find the production of management accounts very useful as they can identify a problem in their business before it becomes too serious. In addition management accounts can help with year-end tax planning to ensure advantage is taken of any means by which the year-end tax liability can be reduced. This service can be undertaken at client's premises or at our office.

Audit

As Registered Auditors we are able to provide clients with an efficient, friendly and cost effective audit service. It is felt by many that, for the owner-managed business, this statutory requirement is an unnecessary evil. Indeed the government recently increased the Turnover threshold to �6.5m relieving many companies of the burden of having their financial statements audited. However we believe that, as a by-product of the audit, our clients receive constructive advice on developing and enhancing their systems to ensure they become more effective and efficient. Business Plan Development
We can assist business start-ups with the development of business plans for obtaining financial backing from banks or other investment institutions. This will include the production of Profit and Cash Flow forecasts and guidance as to other areas that should be covered by the plan. Existing clients who are looking to secure additional funding for business development may also take advantage of this service.

Accounting
We provide clients and business start-ups with advice on accounting systems to be put in place to ensure the smooth running of their accounting function. This extends to existing businesses where advice is given on improvements to accounting systems to enhance the client's efficiency, effectiveness and ultimate success. The systems may be manual or computerised, we have extensive experience of both.

Computerisation
We are able to provide you with discounted software and assist with the installation and set-up of a computerised accounting system.

Acquisitions and Disposals
We are able to advise the purchasers of businesses in respect of the commercial viability of the target business and also by verifying financial and other assertions made by the vendor in respect of the target business. We provide advice to vendors of businesses in respect of the way the disposal should be structured in order to maximise the vendors' return from their business and to ensure their tax liabilities are mitigated.

Systems Review
We are able to carry out a review of the systems currently in place and report on their effectiveness and appropriateness. Any areas that are identified where cost savings can be made, or greater effectiveness and efficiency achieved, will be reported and recommendations made.
